Print Entry Requirements

Preparing Your Print Entries For Judging

- Print identification labels must be printed via the online entry process and adhered to the back of each print in the top left hand corner. These are not self-adhesive labels, so you will have to use sticky tape or glue.

No titles or marks which identify the author are permitted on the front of the entry. However copy/text may be included where it is an integral part of the design (this often applies to Commercial entries).

- The size of the photographic image(s) must be no smaller than 10 inches (25 cm) on the longest edge. The only exception is for original Polaroid prints and Polaroid Transfers where the medium dictates the size, in which case the image may be presented at full size. For digital capture, there is no exception.

If you have more than one image on the mount, then the combined length of the images must measure no less than 10 inches (25 cm) on the longest edge. Images must be permanently bonded to 16×20″ (40.6×50.8 cm) mountboard. Window mounts, permanently bonded also, can be used and are recommended, but the total thickness of the entry must not exceed 6 mm. Hinge mounting is not permitted. Multiple images on one mountboard are acceptable and will be judged as a single entry.

- Any and all glue, Velcro, tape etc, must be removed from the back of submissions prior to shipping.

This is to protect other photographers” images as well as your own. The AIPP, the APPA Committee and its sponsors will not accept responsibility for loss or damage to any print, no matter how caused, and by entering the Awards, the entrant agrees not to seek recompense from the AIPP, the APPA Committee or its sponsors in the event of loss or any damage.

Please refer to the following detailed explanation…

- Up to four (or three in the case of students, AIPP emerging members, trade affiliates, retired and registered subscriber members )16×20″ (40.6×50.8 cm) submissions can be entered regardless of the number of images on each mount. Images must be entered into appropriate categories (subject to the rules and descriptions outlined earlier in this publication). Members of the AIPP or NZIPP can enter submissions into any category regardless of their membership classification.
